Leadership and governance
Our role is to make complex chemistry easier to specify, safer to document and more dependable for construction and industrial teams that must deliver under real conditions.
Sika's leadership model is built around application knowledge. Commercial decisions are paired with technical service, product stewardship, EHS review and supply planning, because a coating or adhesive recommendation is only useful when it can be sourced, handled and applied consistently. The team below represents the functions a customer usually needs to coordinate: construction systems, industrial bonding, sustainability, quality, procurement, regional service and document control. This fictionalized leadership grid is written for a template site, but it reflects the B2B reality of chemical buying: the buyer rarely needs a slogan; they need a clear route to accountable specialists.

A customer request normally starts with the application: joint movement, substrate, exposure, cleaning chemistry, traffic, installation temperature and target service life. Application engineering checks whether a product family fits that reality. Product stewardship confirms SDS, hazard communication and regional declarations. Supply planning reviews packaging, lead time and alternative sources. Quality systems connect the recommended material to test evidence such as pull-off adhesion, viscosity, abrasion resistance or VOC method. This sequence prevents a common chemical purchasing problem: choosing a product name before the site has defined the performance envelope.
Sika's template governance approach emphasizes reviewable decisions. Sustainability statements require measurable boundaries. Safety statements point to SDS sections. Performance statements include test method context. Commercial commitments are checked against availability and local document status. This does not slow the buyer down; it gives the buyer confidence that the recommended resin, coating or adhesive has a documented path from trial to routine use.
| Committee | Focus | Customer value |
|---|---|---|
| Product Stewardship | SDS, labels, declarations | Clear handling and compliance route |
| Technical Review | Testing and method statements | Better first trial planning |
| Sustainability Council | EPD and carbon evidence | Claims with measurable boundaries |
Tell us whether the issue is technical, supply, documentation or sustainability. We will connect the right specialist path.
